The wounds seem to be biting the core of her nerves, its stings almost unbearable for that five minutes every time it happens. Maybe this is what being alive is all about; to have to acutely feel the returning paroxysms of life as a constant reminder that everything comes with a price tag, and that life itself, with all its faked joys, comes bundled with real pain.
