# DOUBLE TAKE

Rented 'Chicago'. Musical movies always have a different flavor to them. For one, their plots were more likely to stand than that of action movies. Then of course, there were their repertoires which, in the case of Chicago, were good but not exceedingly outstanding. I reckon I would probably have a better review of it if I'd caught it in the theatre than on a 14" inch black box. It was one of those movies meant to be caught on a big screen with minimum of a decent surround sound system.

Also watched 'Amelie', a hot pick which seemed to be everyone's favorite (including the cashier at Blockbuster's -- the video rental store). I particularly liked the mystery of the bald man in the photos, and the world traveling gnome. Amelie's mind was an amusing wonderland, even as a little girl.

As a footnote to a friend:
The final happy couple in the show - both could easily be miserabe individuals given their past and circumstances prior to knowing each other, but well they chose a different path from that. Ripped this off somewhere:

"Everybody needs something to get them through the night: A person, a hobby, a cause, even a pet. For (some) it's misery. The idea that he's a victim of everything from nefarious geopolitical conspiracies to bad waiters gives him a role he knows how to play. ....... whining and complaining and generally infecting others with his mumpishness.

As they say, misery loves company. ......."

Mentality towards situations decides how happy (or miserable) you will be.
