Today was a Sian day, capital S intended.

First, it was the time of the month. As usual the cramps came as part of the package. Of all days it came on my only shopping day of the week. I didn't even make it to Tallahassee Mall.

Then came the disgusting discovery of black fungus on the walls in the house. The scrubbing was back aching. We had to do creative shifting of the bed, tables and several book shelves. The rooms were still in a big mess now.

We decided to break for a Wal Mart trip. We spent more than an hour in the supermart replenishing our favourite food and snacks (the food as motivation for the U-haul work waiting for us back home), and getting all excited about a brand new microwave oven (for the household) and a new table lamp (for me). At the cashier, the debit card refused to work.

"For some reason or other, the FSU banking network shuts down from Sat midnight to 7am the next morning", the cashier said.

We couldn't believe it. A shutdown of the banking network on Sat nights of all days. This was ridiculous.

'Sian is an understatement' - Daddy
