been some time since i touched my comp. i was beginning to get used to days without the little thing. in a way it felt good that i didnt have to feel miserable when i'd to go without it for days.

i'd a call from an old friend. it wasnt a surprise that he was back in sing but his call, esp at this time of the day, was unexpected. in typical yx fashion he talked as if he never left sing, with all the sing slangs and such. one would never guess he spent almost half of his life in some angmoh countries. gave me bs as usual. hah. its good to have him back.

daddy sms me that he had a conversation with an american grad on some trivial stuff, one of which was singaporeans' obsession with the make of their cars blah blah. i was half asleep when i saw the sms. when i dozed off for a while later i dreamt of toshiba n ibm notebks.

in a similar fashion i can be rather particular about the makes/models of laptops, esp since they can cost little fortunes. but yah, i've to admit that singaporeans can be rather preoccupied with keeping up with appearances, and cars seem to be the favourite flaunting instruments after their types of residence, esp since 97% of singapore's population live in hdb-s. however i would like to think that my penchant for certain car models is an appreciation of their chio designs and technical abilities rather than another obsession of just... cars. just like my preferences for certain laptop models. 1st up: performance, 2nd: design, 3rd: price.

I updated myself on friends' blogs. saw the photos of a gf's bintan's trip. sun, sand, sea. darn cool. maybe i shall make a trip down there after my papers too :]
